About WordAds
WordAds is the advertising program of WordPress.com, run by Automattic, that lets website owners earn money by showing ads on their sites. Automattic manages the ads, works with advertising partners and pays site owners a share of the revenue.
How it works:
Site owners on eligible WordPress.com plans, or self-hosted WordPress sites using Jetpack, enable ads in their dashboard. WordAds then places ads in standard positions, such as below posts, in the sidebar and in the header, and fills them through a real-time auction among multiple advertising networks.
Key characteristics:
Simple setup without managing ad codes, automatic ad placement, earnings reports in the WordPress dashboard and monthly payments once a minimum threshold is reached.
WordAds is used mainly by bloggers and small publishers on WordPress.com and Jetpack sites who want to monetize their content without working directly with ad networks.
