Wojciech Dabrowski is a landscape and portrait photographer known for unique conceptual images and ideas. His passion for photography developed at a young age. An overwhelming desire to travel and capture various faces, cultures and places was cultivated shortly after his graduation from High School, followed by enlisting in the United States Marine Corps. He connects with his clients personally, so when it's time to start shooting he blends in, becomes part of the landscape. There is an easy, natural quality to his work that allows what's special about you and your life to shine through. His work covers many aspects of photography, from creating lasting memories in the form of family portraits and weddings through baby or glamour shoots to beautiful landscapes. The people, places, and events we all want to hold onto. There's an urgency and importance in doing that. Children grow up, landscapes change, celebrations come to a close.... but the pictures will last forever.
I am an Ottawa-area photographer who enjoys creating images that tell stories. I generally work with models in the areas of action/adventure, fantasy, pinup, and cosplay, but will also do glamour, swimsuit, boudoir, ***, body art, ***, and the occasional bit of fashion photography. My photographic work is strictly as a hobby so rather than accepting paid commissions I prefer to work on projects that interest me. The weather is here...wish you were Beautiful! ($1 to Jimmy Buffet) This winter I will be shooting an abreviated schedule due to other obligations. So, starting with the Loara Tournament on 27 October, the rest of 2018 will be: The Don Lugo WBA show on Nov.3rd, Westminster Highs SCSBOA show on Nov.7th, and Trabuco Hills High's WBA show on Nov.10th. There is also a possibility of me shooting the CSBC Championships on the 17th. All of my images have plenty of digital size, so crops will print out nicely, although please pay attention to the file name/number because I sometimes will resize in 8x10 or 8x16 or whatever...those pics are infrequent but I needed to do that to not cut off a limb or just to clean up the image. Production will depend on how much time I have to put in...remember, I go through all the shots so it's not an instantaneous process. I will put up the groups in alphabetical order, normally, but if I work with a high school, or if someone asks specifically, I'll try to get them up soonest! PLEASE READ! The camera I use is in a native format of 2x3, or 4x6, or 8x12...etc. If you buy a print in, say, 8x10, the printer must crop the original...do so with caution as I crop a bit in processing, so there may be little room for you to edit. The pricing isn't that much different, so if you want a larger print, splurge a bit and get an 8x12. But of course you can opt for 8x10. (They will also crop the 5x7 treatment...no solution for this but to go smaller 4x6 or bump it up to 8x12). Metallic paper is extra-cool, the colors just pop off the paper. If you see an image with a border/frame kinda deal, it's been sized to EXACTLY the size indicated in the image ID. Cropping is a giant NO for these treatments! I also will take liberties when I see the opportunity...black and white or other color treatments may appear! NOTE ON ASPECT RATIO: Sometimes (rarely, though...) I will resize an image in an "odd" sizing...pay attention to the filename and, if altered, the true size will be there; for example..."highschool32x8.2345"...that would indicate the resize is 32x8 inches which can be ordered. These shots are kinda "special"...the treatment is not arbitrary at all... Another PLEASE READ: Some of these pageantry venues have lighting that "cycles" in different hertz ranges; therefore the color temperature changes many times a second . This condition makes it impossible for a modern DSLR camera to get the white balance right throughout the performance of any given group (it has to do with the light cycling, fast shutter speeds, and *one* WB setting the equipment is working with). So what I do is try to get a skin-tone average in post production software, but you may see color shifts between shots nonetheless. With so many shots to process in a timely manner, I choose to not deal with every affected image; realistically, I can't and still get these things done. I would be happy to revisit individual shots, feel free to contact me and we'll go from there. I do some limited mounting, using a wonderful product called Gatorboard that won't bend or warp over time, and standard mounting using high quality matte board, plus archival-quality adhesive. Since I'm a cabinetmaker by trade, I also craft custom frames. So if you want me to do that work, just drop me a line at [email protected] and we'll go from there!
