The autonomous system is registered with RIPE NCC under the name CLOUDFLARESPECTRUM and receives its upstream connectivity from Cloudflare's main network, AS13335.
What the network is used for
- Customer IP ranges: part of the address space announced from AS209242 belongs to Cloudflare customers who bring their own IP prefixes to Cloudflare, so an IP address in this network does not always belong to Cloudflare itself.
- Proxied traffic: websites using Cloudflare's reverse proxy, DDoS protection and TCP/UDP proxying are reachable through addresses in this range.
- Anycast: like the rest of Cloudflare's network, the same addresses are served from Cloudflare data centers in hundreds of cities worldwide.
Because Cloudflare sits in front of the real server, websites listed under this network are usually hosted elsewhere and only use Cloudflare for performance and protection.
