The larval zebrafish is an excellent target for neuroscientific studies and has a typical vertebrate brain architecture. This atlas serves as a resource to provide the field with standardized brain region annotations, traced single neurons, and a compendium of markers & transgenes. The atlas currently focuses on larvae around 6 days post fertilization. Brain regions are defined by expert annotation and hierarchically segment the brain into nuclei and neuropil areas. The atlas also offers a large collection (>4,000) of single neuron morphologies, which have been genetically labeled in separate fish, traced, and com***tionally registered. This dataset can provide insights to morphological types and connectivity between regions. We continually add gene expression and marker patterns to the atlas. Currently, this includes hundreds of transgenic lines, hybridization chain reaction (HCR) RNA in situ labelings, and antibody stainings.
