Title: Didáctica y Educación ISSN: 2224-2643 Description:Sobre la educación ambiental comunitaria y el desarrollo local se ha escrito de manera independiente. Hoy en la contemporaneidad el desarrollo local se vincula con el lugar y papel de los tomadores de decisiones ante problemáticas ambientales que afectan un grupo o grupos específicos de personas. Es necesario comprender la interrelación educación ambiental comunitaria-desarrollo local como aquella que prepara al individuo para que sea capaz de mejorar su relación con el entorno natural, cambiando la forma de pensar y actuar. El objetivo del trabajo que se presenta se dirigió a establecer una relación entre educación ambiental comunitaria y desarrollo local ante la necesidad de cambios en la conducta a seguir por los tomadores de decisiones en la Comunidad “La Ceiba” del municipio de Consolación del Sur. Se realizó un diagnóstico inicial que permitió agrupar diferentes indicadores que se visualizaron como los que inciden en la problemática ambiental existente en la mencionada comunidad. Fueron aplicadas diferentes técnicas investigativas como la entrevista y la encuesta a vecinos, decisores y dirigentes de diferentes organizaciones sociales y de masas encargados de gestionar cambios en la comunidad para el buen desenvolvimiento higiénico de los pobladores. Se muestra tan solo una síntesis resultado de la investigación realizada en el proyecto: “Metodología de Mapa Verde” que coordina el Centro Universitario Municipal de Consolación del Sur, Pinar del Río, Cuba. De esta forma se ayuda y apoya la toma de decisiones por parte de los líderes formales de la comunidad para la protección ambiental.
