Description:Herzlich Willkommen bei Zypernpfoten in Not e.V. Wir freuen uns, Sie auf unserer Homepage begrüßen zu dürfen. Hand in Hand mit unserer zyprischen Schwesterorganisation CyDRA (Cyprus Dogs Rehoming Association) versuchen wir, die unwürdigen Lebensbedingungen der Hunde auf Zypern zu ändern und den vielen geschundenen und vergessenen Hunden zu helfen. Viele von ihnen werden unter katastrophalen Bedingungen gehalten, oft misshandelt und nur unzureichend versorgt. Wenn sie nicht mehr gebraucht werden und unerwünscht sind, werden die Hunde einfach wie Unrat entsorgt. Sie werden ausgesetzt oder bei den landesüblichen Tötungsstationen abgegeben. Das klassische Bild eines Rudels Straßenhunde werden Sie auf Zypern aber nur sehr selten sehen. Die zurückgelassenen Haushunde werden weggeprügelt, es wird auf sie geschossen, sie verenden an ausliegenden Giftködern oder sie verhungern und verdursten elendig. Die streunenden Hunde werden in der Regel schnell eingefangen und in Tötungsstationen gebracht. Wenn die Hunde das dortige Martyrium überhaupt zwei Wochen überleben, werden sie durch eine Injektion getötet. Einer der Hauptschwerpunkte unserer Arbeit liegt in der Unterstützung von ausgesuchten Tierheimen (Sheltern) in den Gebieten von Larnaca und Limassol. Neben ausgesetzten Hunden werden dort auch regelmäßig Hunde aus den Tötungsstationen aufgenommen, um sie so vor dem sicheren Tod zu bewahren. Dort werden die Hunde liebevoll ver- und umsorgt. Unser Verein bemüht sich, für die Hunde ein schönes neues Zuhause zu finden. Jeder Hund der die Insel verlässt, macht für einen anderen Hund einen lebensrettenden Platz frei. Mit der von uns erhobenen Schutzgebühr unterstützen wir die Versorgung und die Instandhaltung der Tierheime und fördern die Aufklärungsarbeit der mutigen Tierschützer vor Ort. Wir sammeln Geld- und Sachspenden und leiten diese nach Zypern weiter. Wir hoffen, Ihr Interesse geweckt zu haben und Sie vielleicht bald persönlich kennenzulernen.
