In zijn Kringloopwinkel te Uden, werd Ad elke dag geconfronteerd met een niet aflatende stroom van kunststofafval. “Plastics”. Kunststof heeft als grondstof onze natuurlijke fossiele brandstof aardolie. Dit maakte hem nog bewuster van de bestaande recycle routes die er in Nederland en wereldwijd zijn om plastic afval te verwerken. De verbrandingsinstallatie’s, die de warmte die vrij komt bij verbranding omzetten naar stroom, onze vuilnisbelten, stortplaatsen en PET-flessen recycling. Bij verbranding van fossiele brandstoffen, komt CO2-vrij. Fossiele brandstoffen zijn ontstaan uit afgestorven plantenresten en-of dieren die miljoenen jaren geleden gestorven zijn en nu onder de druk van het aardoppervlak en door rotting zijn samengeperst. CO2 is een chemische verbinding van een koolstofatoom (C) en twee zuurstofatomen (O). We noemen het ook wel kooldioxide. Het is een kleurloos en reukloos gas. Het ontstaat dus bij verbranding van natuurlijke brandstoffen (olie, aardgas, steenkool of hout). Bomen en planten hebben CO2 nodig om te groeien. Teveel uitstoot van CO2 is schadelijk voor het milieu. CO2 geldt als het bekendste en meest aanwezige broeikasgas. Broeikasgassen houden de warmte van de aarde vast waardoor de aarde opwarmt. De opwarming van de aarde leidt nu al tot smelten van ijs op de noord- en zuidpool. Het waterniveau zal oplopen, klimaten veranderen en het weer wordt extremer. Dit zijn allemaal gevolgen van de uitstoot van CO2. Daarom is CO2 reductie erg belangrijk. De huidige temperatuurstijgingen gaan veel sneller, telkens als de CO2-concentratie in de atmosfeer omhoog gaat, gaat de planeet er heel anders uitzien. En zorgt ervoor dat het leven op aarde sterk verandert. Hoe staan we er in Nederland voor? Met een klimaatakkoord, energieakkoord en klimaatwet. Het laatste nieuws over circulaire economie! 10 juni 2019 Rijksoverheid 80 miljoen euro extra beschikbaar voor kringloopeconomie of circulaire economie dit is een economisch en industrieel systeem waarin geen eindige grondstofvoorraden worden uitgeput en waarin reststoffen volledig opnieuw worden ingezet in het systeem. 2050 moet Nederland 100% circulair zijn. In 2030 zouden we op de helft moeten zijn. Een circulaire economie is belangrijk om efficiënter om te gaan met onze grondstoffen en om het klimaatakkoord van Parijs te halen. 'Een economie zonder afval, dus slim omgaan met grondstoffen is de ontbrekende schakel van het klimaatakkoord van Parijs'. Staat secretaris Stientje van Veldhoven (infrastructuur en Waterstaat) 'Zonder die schakel halen we de in 2015 afgesproken doelstelling niet'. Stichting Urgenda, samen sneller duurzaam. 9 okt 2018 ’Klimaatzaak’ Onze Staat doet te weinig tegen klimaatverandering, de Staat moet meer doen tegen CO2- uitstoot. Daarmee verzaakt de overheid haar zorgplicht voor Nederlandse Burgers, oordeelde het Haagse gerechtshof. ‘Nederland dient verantwoordelijkheid te nemen’ ,zei de rechter. Het hof beveelt de regering maatregelingen te treffen die ervoor zorgen dat eind 2020 de CO2-uitstoot met 25 procent is gedaald. The other way around! Plastic 2 Power! Circulaire economie is de oplossing om CO2-reductie mogelijk te maken. Het CO2-vrij ontleden van plastics terug naar zijn grondstof, onze waardevolle fossiele brandstof aardolie. Plastic afval is dus niet economisch nutteloos het heeft zijn eigen kernwaarde, wereldomvattende marktwaarde, inplaats van plastic afval een negatieve waarde mee te gegeven, doordat we er veel voor te betalen om ervan af te komen! Plastic afval moet ecologisch gezien niet honderden jaren liggen verteren zodat en gevaarlijke deeltjes en stoffen in ons milieu doorsijpelen of verbrand worden dat geeft onnodige extra veel CO2-uitstoot. Deze bovengenoemde bestaande recycle routes hebben niets te maken met circulaire economie. Deze bestaande recycle route "stoppen" zou wereldwijd gigantische kosten besparen en direct leiden tot een significante CO2-reductie en... een echte blijvende positieve bijdragen voor onze menselijke gezondheid en het milieu leveren, ons klimaat wereldomvattend verbeteren... Want plastics, onze fossiel brandstof aardolie, zijn op dit moment hard nodig om de wereldwijde industrie draaiende te houden! Onze natuurlijke fossiele brandstoffen raken zelfs langzaam op...
