Description:Library Science – a book club by KAIA GERBER and ALYSSA REEDER – officially launched in March of 2024. This project aims to highlight books that aren't on the typical bestseller lists in order to better support debut writers, new voices, and overlooked / underrepresented stories. Moving forward, our mission is simple: get people reading. Library Science will cover fiction, translations, essays, plays, and poetry – intensely focusing on work that could provoke larger conversations around ***, love, girlhood, queerness, grief, addiction, beauty, being. We will be curating bookshelves around the world, hosting conversations (both online and in person), and releasing an annual publication - all with the hopes of building up our community of rage readers. We don't claim to be academic, we just love to read. And we deeply believe that there’s no downside to preaching the idea that we often learn the most from the stories that aren't our own.
