Çocuk ve ergen psikiyatrisi eğitimimi 5 yıl boyunca İstanbul Üniversitesi, İstanbul Tıp Fakültesi'nde sürdürmüş ve 2008 yılında Çocuk ve Ergen Psikiyatrisi Uzmanı olmuştur. Bakırköy Ruh ve Sinir Hastalıkları Hastanesi'nde 2008 - 2010 yılları arasında Uzman Doktor olarak görev yapmıştır. Selçuk Üniversitesi, Meram Tıp Fakültesi, Çocuk ve Ergen Psikiyatrisi Kliniği'ni kurmuş ve Anabilim Dalı Başkanı olarak çalışmıştır. 2012 yılında Doçent ünvanı almaya hak kazanmıştır.
2 kitap ve 12 kitap bölüm yazarlığı yapmış; 70'in üzerinde makale, 200'e yakın bildiri ve bu çalışmalara yapılmış 700'e yakın atıfı bulunmaktadır. ‘Yeme Bozukluğu olan Çocuklarda Davranışçı Tedavi Etkinliği’ konulu çalışması ile Amerikan Psikiyatri Akademisi (APA) tarafından ‘Genç Araştırmacı Ödülü’ (2008) almıştır. Otizm alanında yaptığı araştırmalar nedeniyle, dünyada bu alandaki en etkin oluşum olan Uluslararası Otizm Araştırmaları Birliği (INSAR) tarafından ‘Genç Araştırmacı Ödülü’ (2006, 2008, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016) ile onurlandırılmıştır. Avrupa Çocuk ve Ergen Psikiyatrisi Derneği (ESCAP) tarafından verilen Donald Cohen Fellowship Bursu (2007) ve Dünya Psikiyatri Birliği (WPA) tarafından verilen Methodology Course Bursu (2005) alarak eğitimlere katılmıştır. Çocuk ve Gençlik Psikiyatrisi Derneği tarafından verilen ‘Prof. Dr. Atalay Yörükoğlu Genç Bilim İnsanı Ödülü’ (2009), Prof. Dr. Fahrettin Kerim Gökay Vakfı tarafından verilen 'En İyi Bildiri Ödülü’ (2014 ve 2016) sahibidir.
Uluslararası Katılımlı Konya Otizm Günleri (2013), 24. Ulusal Çocuk ve Ergen Psikiyatrisi Kongresi (2014), Çocuk ve Ergen Psikiyatrisi Bahar Okulu (2015), Çocuk ve Ergenlerde Yeme Bozuklukları Çalıştayı (2016) düzenleme kurulu başkanlıklarını yapmıştır. Çocuk ve Ergen Psikiyatrisi Derneği - Asistan Komisyonu başkanlığı (2005 - 2007), Türkiye Psikiyatri Derneği – Gençlik Psikiyatrisi Çalışma Birimi koordinatörlüğü (2016 - 2018) görevlerini yürütmüştür.
Yurt dışında çeşitli üniversitelerde (Emory Üniversitesi / Atlanta, Duke Üniversitesi / Kuzey Karolina, North Carolina Üniversitesi / Kuzey Karolina, Michigan State Üniversitesi / Michigan) ziyaretçi olarak bulunmuş, çeşitli ülkelere eğitimci ve konuşmacı olarak davet edilmiştir (Yunanistan, İtalya, İspanya, Lübnan, Azerbaycan, Kanada).
Grup Psikoterapisi, Psikodrama, Bilişsel Davranışçı Terapi, Oyun Terapisi, Dinamik Yönelimli Psikoterapi ve Aile Terapisi eğitimleri almıştır. Tedavi yaklaşımı olarak çeşitli psikoterapi yöntemlerini ve ilaç tedavilerini kullanmakla birlikte Anne-Baba Eğitimleri vermektedir.
Temel ilgi alanını 6 ay ile 21 yaş arasındaki bebek, çocuk ve ergenlerde görülen psikolojik, pedagojik ve psikiyatrik durumlar oluşturmaktadır. Dikkat eksikliği, hiperaktivite, karşı gelme, otizm, konuşma sorunları, korkular, tuvalet sorunları, uyku ve yeme düzensizlikleri, özgüven sorunları, ergenlik çatışmaları, kaygı ve endişe, otizm, disleksi, depresyon, akran sorunları konularında çalışmaktadır.
