WapTug is a non-profit organization with the mission of creating nodes of a distributed cloud server in colleges around the world to provide virtual machines for students to use for Web Application Technology Research and to create lasting portfolios of their work until they can migrate them to a commercial server solution when they can afford to do that. This services fills the need of students needing a place to host a public web site that can show case thier web applications and web site design projects that they work on while in college to assist them with getting clients for paying work after they graduate. This project is aimed at colleges that appreciate and teach Business and Information Technology courses to students. This project creates a technology incubator environment to assist students with developing web application projects by providing them with the web server and virtual machine images necessary to facilitate friction free research.
