Xity.de is the new local news and infotainment portal in Germany. It was founded in 2008 as a nationwide online news magazine. The open beta launch took place on December 7th, 2009 after a 18-months closed beta stage. An editorial team, based in Duesseldorf Media Harbor and freelance writers across Germany, write the articles. Xity uses several sources of content like news agencies. In addition to the editorial articles xity offers its guest authors the possibility to upload their own content, images, videos and event tips online and make these available to other users.
