VIRGINIA SOCCER TRAINING CENTER ARTIFICIAL TURF FIELDS WILL LEAD THE WAY IN NEW TECHNOLOGY AND SAFETY FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, VA. April 28, 2015 The Virginia Youth Soccer Association announced today that they have begun installation of two artificial turf fields at the Virginia Soccer Training Center this week that will help lead youth soccer in terms of innovative technology and safety. The two new artificial turf fields will be the first in the State of Virginia to utilize Infill-Pro Geo an organic in-fill manufactured by Limonta Sport. Since being introduced in 2004, Infill-Pro Geo has been utilized in over 200 soccer pitches in Europe including the AC Milan Training Center. In the United States, several fields, including two in Maryland have been constructed using Infill-Pro Geo. This organic infill keeps the field surface up to 80% cooler in hot weather than other infill products, it is recyclable, odorless (no off-gassing), provides superior foot stability, optimal shock absorption and has excellent drainage characteristics. The infill contains a patented formula using all natural ingredients like cork, rice husks and coconut husks. Infill-Pro Geo will be used in conjunction with AstroTurf GameDay Grass 1.5 Extreme over a Brock SP 15 Shock pad which has been proven to diminish sports related turf injuries. VYSA Executive Director Phil Summers commented “We are pleased to be able to utilize this innovative organic infill product to insure that our two new artificial surface fields at the Virginia Soccer Training Center provide the safest and best performing playing surface for our members”. The two new fields are being constructed by Sports Construction Management and will be completed sometime in June.
