Robert Fetcher was once a household name but what has become of this former child chess prodigy since his devastating loss of the national junior chess championship? After a self-imposed fif year exile he is making a comeback. A clause in the bylaws of the children's chess tournament circuit allows any former champion to exercise a right to a rematch. At age 24 Robert is ready to take on the current 8 year old champion but the road to victory won't be easy. He must accrue enough master points from various junior tournaments to challenge the sitting champion. Along the way he is joined by his delusional mother Suzanne, her testosterone fueled boyfriend Duke and Robert's unorthodox life coach Dane. They embark on a journey to reclaim past glory and correct the unjust defeat of fif years ago.
