The City Centre BID exists solely to introduce significant improvements for the benefit of its levy payers. Our partnership approach will develop a strong and successful environment, enabling all organisations within the area to thrive. The City Centre BID launched on 1st November 2017, following a successful ballot in which 72.6% of businesses voted Yes by number and 82.1% by Rateable Value. In its first five-year term, the City Centre BID we will improve safety, improve the welcome, and improve the look and feel of the area. We will actively promote success and will always act in the best interest of levy payers. In its first year our key projects are to: Introduce a team of City Centre BID Ambassadors / Develop and deliver a consolidated waste and recycling contract / Improve communication with and between levy payers / Improve safety at night / Work in partnership to reduce rough sleeping / Deliver enhanced cleansing / Improve and enhance seasonal lighting / Support initiatives that encourage footfall and increase dwell time
