Kyuha (Q) Shim is a designer, researcher, and Associate Professor of Design and Director of the Computational Creativity Lab at Carnegie Mellon University. Shim works in the integrative and interdisciplinary realm of art, design, and technology, with a particular interest in the language of systems. Central to his practice and research is the use of computational thinking as a methodology for design in creating generative systems informed and driven by data. 서울에서 태어나 계원예술대학교와 홍익대학교에서 멀티미디어/디지털미디어 디자인을 전공하고, 미국 로드아일랜드 디자인대학 디지털미디어학과에서 다중감각 인터렉션과 정보시각화 논문으로 석사학위를 받았으며, 영국 왕립예술대학 시각 커뮤니케이션학과에서 컴퓨테이셔널 디자인 연구주제로 박사과정을 수료하였다. 현재 카네기멜론대학교 컴퓨테이셔널 크리에이티비티 연구소의 디렉터 및 디자인대학 부교수로 재직 중이며 시각/인터렉션 디자인을 가르치며 건축대학원 컴퓨테이셔널 디자인 전공 주임교수이다.
