The Whitney Portal Store, located 13 miles west of Lone Pine, lies next to the Mount Whitney trail head
and has operated by permit from the Inyo National Forest since 1987. At the store, we keep last minute supplies
for hiking, camping, fishing, and related items for the portal visitors. The kitchen serves pancakes and burgers.
The kitchen closes about an hour before the store closes. Note, on quiet days, the store may close earlier.
