The class is intensely hands-on, utilizing a complete 'kit' of parts including electrical, mechanical, and computing components that the students use to practice the concepts. At the end of the course, students build, program, and test a complete 3-degree-of-freedom pick-and-place manipulator that uses machine vision to automatically locate the object to be picked up.
