Inside The Odyssey Project
The Odyssey Project™ is a collaborative theater process between *** youth and university undergraduates. Using the template of Homer's Odyssey, the parti***nts explore the mythic elements in their lives in order to reconstruct the epic poem in their own voices. The project leads to a public performance at a local theateror in a dentention center. Everyone on this creative journey is a hero or ***e. The project is designed to honor youth in identifying their heroic life mission and map a course of action. It employs theater arts as a strategy for inspiring life affirming choices. Inside The Odyssey Project serves as a supplement to The Odyssey Project Manual. The goal is to give an overview of the concepts and practices of the project in action. We won’t be able to show all the exercises, follow all the cl*** and cover all the milestones of the workshop in a broad way. It’s a glimpse that summarizes the process, inspires the viewer to discover more about The Odyssey Project, and visually augments the reading of the manual.
