Description:赤壁市广播电视大学是我市唯一一所地方成人高等教育学校，座落于陆水二桥南端，依山傍水，环境幽雅。校园内林木葱茏，花草飘香；校舍楼房错落有致，教学区、生活区功能区划分明。学校师资力量雄厚，教学设施齐全，设有卫星电视接收站、闭路电视系统、多媒体教室、图书馆等教学设施，校内计算机网络已通过光纤与因特网连通，具备良好的办学条件。 学校开办20年来，坚持为地方经济建设和社会发展服务，多层次、多规格、多形式、多功能办学，开设有计算机、会计、汉语言文学、法律、行政管理、工业与民用建筑、水利水电等20多个本、专科专业，共培养各类应用性专业人才3000余人，培训会计电算化和计算机应用性人才800余人，培训中小学教师1000 余人，现已成为赤壁市远程开放教育中心、中小学教师继续教育中心和应用性人才培训基地。为了适应新形势下对成人教育的新要求，赤壁电大一班人积极进取，抢抓机遇，开拓创新，借全国大力发展职业教育的东风，现正在全市范围内全面启动”1+2”全日制高等职业技术教育（所有报读学员参加一年高中学习，然后参加两年大专学习，毕业获国家承认的大专学历，并专业对口安置就业）。这一举措将大力提升学生的文化素质和专业技能，进一步提高赤壁电大的社会知名度，为赤壁电大再铸辉煌奠定了坚实的基础。 目前，学校本、专科在校生达400多人，非学历教育、短期培训和中小学教师继续教育蓬勃开展。良好的办学成果赢得了社会的广泛赞誉，学校先后曾多次被省教育厅、省电大、咸宁市电大和赤壁市教育局等部门评为“中小学教师继续教育示范基地” 、“办学先进单位”、“招生先进单位”、“教务管理先进集体”、“非学历教育先进单位”。
